In yesterday's primary, some of our candidates did well, and some lost very close races, that may still be recovered throught the counting of paper ballots.

Our victorious candidates included:

Eliot Spitzer (Governor)

For Congress - Eliot Engel (Riverdale & parts of Westchester and Rockland)

For State Senate:

18 - Bedford-Stuyvesant, Clinton Hill, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Red Hook, parts of Park Slope, Carroll Gardens Velmanette Montgomery

20 - Brooklyn Eric Adams

21 - Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, Borough Park Kevin Parker

36 - Bronx Ruth Hassell-Thompson

For Assembly:

22 - Queens Ellen Young

69 - Manhattan Valley, Morningside Heights Daniel O'Donnell

72 - Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill Adriano Espaillat

For Civil Court - Countywide (Brooklyn) Jacqueline D. Williams & Dena Douglas

Three of our candidates lost close races, including our own Assemblywoman Sylvia Friedman, who appears to have lost to Brian Kavanagh. Councilman Hiriam Monserrate narrowly lost to incumbent John Sabini. In an open Assembly seat in South Brooklyn being vacated by our own Adele Cohen, Ari Kagan narrowly lost to Alec Brook-Karasny. However, in all three races, paper ballots still need to be counted and may change the results.
