Thomas Smith (pictured right) receives the Special Recognition Award for Mental Health Advocacy in honor of his mother, Kathryn A. Smith, who was a board member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Staten Island for many years. Thomas Smith was introduced by the Director of External Affairs Quality Services for the Autism Community, Dirk McCall (pictured left).
